Microsoft To Discontinue Free Xbox Music Streaming Feature In Windows 8/8.1

Microsoft today announced that the free Xbox Music streaming feature currently available on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and over the Internet will be discontinued in all countries where it is offered. This change is effective December 1, 2014. Microsoft is ending this feature to focus Xbox Music to deliver the ultimate music purchase and subscription service experience for their customers. With Xbox Music Pass, you have access to millions of songs on your PC, tablet, Xbox, phone, and the web.
You may continue to view any playlists or collections you created using the free streaming feature, but you can’t listen to the music in those playlists or collections unless you purchase the music or an Xbox Music Pass. If you have an Xbox Music Pass, you will still have access to all the music in your playlists, radio stations, collections, and catalog.
Will my Xbox Music Pass continue to work the same?
Yes, the Xbox Music Pass will still offer all the music you want and works on your PC, tablet, Xbox, the web, and your phone, including Windows Phone, iOS, and Android devices. Don’t have a Music Pass? Sign up for a free 30-day trial at http://www.xbox.com/music/music-pass.
