PayPal Pay@Table mobile payment system comes to France, supports Windows Phone

Telecompaper reports that PayPal’s mobile payment system Pay@Table has expanded to France, with a pilot currently running in Nancy.
Around 30 independent supermarkets, bars, bakeries and so forth, are taking part.
The system uses the Local tab in the PayPal app, with users needing to check in to the store.  They are then able to settle their bill at the end of the meal without even needing to wait for the waiter.
The service works on Android, iOS or Windows Phone, and is also being trailed in London and Berlin.
