As announced last week, Microsoft has finally launched their Xbox One console in China. Earlier this month, Microsoft announced that they have delayed the launch of Xbox One console in China which was scheduled to happen on September 23rd. The console is priced at ¥3,699 RMB. At the Xbox One media briefing held few months back, Microsoft and BesTV revealed that more than 25 developers are building more than 70 games for Xbox One including exclusive content, free to play games, and blockbuster titles. Microsoft at that time said that “despite strong and steady progress, we are going to need more a bit more time to deliver the best experiences possible for our fans in China.”
“At Xbox, we pride ourselves on delivering first rate gaming and entertainment experiences and to allow us to deliver on that promise we need to reschedule the launch of Xbox One,” Microsoft said in a statement. “Working with our partner, BesTV, we look forward to launching in China by the end of this year.”
Even though the console was launched today, only 10 game titles are available to buy for the gamers. Microsoft is struggling to get popular Xbox One game titles such as Call of Duty, Destiny, etc for the Chinese customers because the regulators are wary of violent content. However, Microsoft has announced that over 70 game titles are in the works for Chinese gamers and these games will be released in the coming months.
