Microsoft updated Cortana in background, Full Changelog


Microsoft has updated Cortana in background and has also provided a changelog for all the new features it has acquired post its debut in US. While we have kept you informed about all the past changes the changelog reveals that it can now help you with your health and fitness regime too.

Full Changelog:

NFL predictions. Football season is here and Cortana’s got her game face on. Ask her for an NFL game prediction and she’ll give you her pick. (Cortana’s NFL predictions are only available in the US and are for entertainment only.) Press and hold the Search Search icon button, and then try asking Cortana, “Who will win the [team name] versus [team name] game?” Or, just ask about your favorite team and say, “Who will win the [team name] game?”

Dictionary. Sometimes, you just need to look something up on the fly. Press and hold the Search Search icon button, and then say something to Cortana like, “Define awesome.”

Health and fitness. Get answers about workouts and exercises. Press and hold theSearch Search icon button, and then try asking Cortana something like, “What is a crunch?”
New interests in Cortana’s Notebook. There are some new interests that you canadd in Cortana’s NotebookLocal apps helps you get app suggestions for events happening around you, and Best nearby gives you recommendations about restaurants, places to shop, and other spots near you based on Foursquare popularity—this will work even if you’re not signed in to Foursquare. You can add these interests by going to Cortana > Cortana’s Notebook Cortana's Notebook icon > Interests > Add Add icon > Discover, and then tapping the interest you want to add.

Do more with apps. Cortana can help you do more things with apps like Facebook,TwitterSkypeLinkedIn, and other favorites. For example, if you have the Facebook app installed and you want to go straight to your friend’s wall, just press and hold the Search Search icon button and say, “Facebook, what’s up with [friend's name]?”

Tip

To get ideas for what Cortana can help you with, press and hold the Search Search iconbutton, tap See more, and then tap an app.

Say what? Try chit chatting with Cortana and see what she might say. Press and hold the Search Search icon button, and then try saying something like, “Are you alive?”

Here are a few other starters:
  • “Do an impression”
  • “What does the fox say?”
  • “Who’s the coolest person in the world?”
  • “Are you a girl?”
  • “What is your purpose?”
