Increase surfing speed in IE 9 by switching graphics off


If you are working on a slow internet connection, it can be a very frustrating experience to wait for a webpage to load. Although there are many accelerators available to increase the speed of a download, you can get an optimal browsing experience with Internet Explorer 9 on a slow internet connection.
Whenever I have some important work to do, I use this technique and it makes webpages load faster and work gets completed quickly, I hope this small tutorial would help you too.

Pre-Requisites

Installed Version of Internet Explorer 9, download it from [here] if you don’t have one already.

Tutorial to increase browsing speed on a slow connection

1) Open you internet explorer, click on the “settings icon”, then on “Internet Options.”

2) Once you click on “Internet Options”, a dialog box would appear with loads of tabs, click on the “Advanced” tab and then navigate to the “multimedia” section.

3) Now uncheck the following options:-
  • Play animations in web pages
  • Play sounds in web pages
  • Show pictures

4) Click “Apply” and then “Ok.” You are done, your browser won’t play rich media content now and thus webpages would load much faster.

In order to revert the changes, just check the options that you unchecked.
